Whats Really Going On

Here it is, the Story of One...

"Rendezvous
What I remember is dinner and a few drinks. Dancing with someone I thought was a friend and then with someone I'd not met before. And waking up what seemed like 2 seconds later in a strange bed. I was lucky. A friend had taken me home, cleaned me up and looked after me. I was completely blacked out for 12-14 hours, though apparently I was 'dancing' and such for a while. I have absolutely no memory of this. I had conversations with people - I don't remember. I was dragged around, dropped and worse on the dancefloor before my friends found me barely conscious and carried/dragged me to the van. I threw up all over myself, my friends' van and house. I was undressed to my underwear, cleaned up and had my hair washed- I don't remember. I fell over and smacked my head. I don't remember. I rarely drink, but have a high tolerance, I don't throw up, pass out or get hung-over. In fact, I very rarely go anywhere except work and home. But I thought Rendezvous was a fun communitey event. Afterward, I started piecing together what happened. I'm not the only one. What I was told is that this happens there and everybody knows it. I was NOT BY FAR the only one. But I'm telling my story to do what I can to be the be the last one that ever has to go through this.
If this happens to you, get a urine test w/i 24 hours- took me too long to figure it out to do this, so I'll never be able to prove what was in that drink. File a police report- like I did. And if a friend didn't take you home, check for signs of rape and go to a doctor immediately. I was lucky too have woken up at all- almost died the rockstar death of choking on my own vomit- pretty. And if you see a friend acting TOTALLY out of character- get her home....and get her to pee in a cup for a drug test."

From a Concerned Citizen... Posted by Webmaster

“I, Too, have had the experience of being in the same local bar that people are referring to concerning the date rape drug being put into drinks. The person I was with happened to be male, however, and when I noticed him acting totally out of character and not just a little tipsy, it alerted me and I got him out of the bar and home. He slept until 1:00 PM the next day, which was totally out of character so I knew something wasn’t right but didn’t consider the fact that he had been drugged. This is a scary thing and certainly makes me think twice about going out and having a few drinks. What are we going to do? Wait until someone dies, or drives and kills someone else?”
